Wags + Weight Loss Episode 1: A New Beginning

Micha and Abbie looking fabulous at the start of our new podcast.

“I think this is going to become my life from now on” – Micha

Are you or a family member interested in getting back to your high school weight and feeling happier, healthier, and more attractive than ever before? Then join us for this new podcast and follow Eric O’Grey as he coaches Micha Rains and Abbie Ibrahim with a whole food, plant based dietary plan that will change their lives by changing the foods they eat.

This reality podcast is based on Eric’s experience and success in achieving his optimal weight and health, simply by transitioning from a standard American omnivore diet to a whole food plant based diet while walking a dog for a half an hour, twice each day. Following this same plan, Eric lost 140 pounds in just ten months by adopting a plant based diet and a shelter dog and plant based diet, which reversed his type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and normalized his glucose and cholesterol. Eric has now maintained his health and weight at the same levels for 6 years.

In this podcast, we will follow Micha and Abbie as they completely transition from their standard American omnivore diets to a whole food, plant-based diet with no processed food or oils. Let’s all applaud their courage in agreeing to do this program publicly, in the hopes of inspiring others to make similar positive changes in their lives!

Abbie is 45 years old, and starting this program at 232 pounds. Micha is 43 years old and starting at 252 pounds. A few years ago, Micha had knee surgery and since then, has been on a quest to live a healthier life. Abbie is a corporate person who has ‘let her health go’ and wants to begin eating healthier and living her life to the fullest. Abbie and Micha have been good friends for about 3 years and have decided to begin this journey together. Abbie and Micha both have dogs that were rescued from shelters and who will walk with them each day as an important part of this program.

The purpose of this experience is not just to lose some weight – but to get all the way down to their goal weight by the end of 2017. Micha and Abbie’s approximate high school weight was about 150 pounds each, so for the purpose of this podcast, we will establish the goal weight for each at 150 pounds.

Every Monday, Abbie and Micha will weigh themselves and announce their weight on the podcast, and we will compare their weight to the prior week and discuss what worked, what didn’t, and what results should be celebrated or improved. Micha is starting the podcast at 252.4 pounds, and Abbie is starting at 232 pounds.
